The early skinheads were heavily influenced by their predecessors the mods. Italian scooters such as Lambrettas and Vespas were the vehicle of choice for both hard mods and skinheads in the late 1960s. And they listened to soul, Jamaican reggae, ska and rocksteady in the dance clubs of London.
